In May the three of us visited the Getty Villa in Malibu. I had been there once before to see a play and became mesmerized by the beautiful gardens and architecture modeled after an ancient Greek villa. It was a rainy day that day, which only added to the dreamy serenity of the whole experience. This time we were able to do an extensive tour through the many exhibits in the museum. My favorite was a study of polychromy in sculpture throughout history. Since most sculpture we see is pretty monochromatic, it was fascinating to see how artists have incorporated color into this medium. But the highlight of the day was a toss up between the breathtaking gardens and the killer sandwiches we enjoyed at the cafe.
maybe someday I will perform in this lovely outdoor space
