WAL*MART

Okay, people. Many of you know of Andy and my commitment to not shop at Walmart. When asked, I always say it is because I watch too much PBS (which is true). But I usually say that because I don't feel intelligent enough to argue all the reasons why. People somehow always want to turn it into an argument, I don't know why. Baby, It's Cold Outside

I have been very cold lately. No, it has not been that cold here. Slightly "below average" which is still in the 60's. But our house just can't get warm and my feet can't get warm and my hands can't get warm and it's an endless cycle. I am more uncomfortably cold here than I was in Sonora. I have a theory about it all. My theory is that in places like Sonora or others where it gets legitimately cold, people use their heaters on a regular basis. (same as us with a/c in the summer) Here people don't use their heaters unless it is 50 degrees in the room or raining outside or something. So wherever you go, one cannot get warm. I've caved lately and have started using our heater (see I'm just as guilty), so I'm probably going to experience a really high electric bill. =( I've also taken to heating up the "popcorn bag" and just carrying it with me all around the house. What a wimp.

So we decided for our anniversary we would get tickets for this one-man show starring Billy Crystal-- his life story. We drove all the way down there on a Wednesday (pretty lousy night for going into Beverly Hills), braving traffic and carsickness only to find that the performance had been cancelled! He was sick! Poor guy... must be pretty sick for him not to go on. They are going to add another performance for us, but it won't be for a while. So much for our 5th anniversary treat... I guess that is one of the risks of seeing a one-man show starring a celebrity. Can't exactly understudy him.
