FBCD's 140th Bday Picnic

Today we celebrated the 140th birthday of our church. Services were moved to a nearby park for the day and a church picnic followed. It was tons of fun! Peer enjoyed the change of pace and so did we. Although we did have to chase him around the whole service. And it wasn't an ideal nap situation. But we had fun with friends. Andy actually spent the whole morning working pretty hard helping Ben and Eric set up all the equipment for the worship service. No small task. They gave Andy a lovely FBCD Staff blue polo for his efforts.

LA County Fair

I haven't been to the fair since I was a kid and boy, was it an experience. I found the food and the carnival rides rather repulsive, but the kid's play area and the animals were quite awesome. Peer had a great time, when he was awake. Oh, and btw it was frickin' hot!
playing with trains in the Kids & Ed room
Peer and Mommy enjoying a healthy meal. And also enjoying putting food into the basket-- that was Peer's favorite part.
Sand is always a winner with our little dirt-monger.

Peer got to touch his first sheep. Good thing the sheep didn't mind. Overall, the animals were a big hit. He kept making the "more" sign for "more animals!" We also saw bunnies, goats, cows, and pigs getting their mommy's milk.

Dylan's Birthday Party

On Sunday we went to the first birthday party of Peer's good friend Dylan. He is exactly one month younger than Peer. Once Dylan saw Peer standing up and walking, he thought he'd give it a try. His mom Sandy said he stood for longer than he ever had! We love that Peer has a friend his age and I've been enjoying sharing motherhood with Sandy. =)

Tuesday Movie Nights

Tuesday nights are band rehearsal at church and afterward we often have the guys over for a movie. (we're not in the band-- we just hang out with them) We do a lot of talking over the movie and (if you're me) making fun of the movies. This past Tuesday was Hammond Organ-player Andrew's last night in the USA before he went to Korea to teach English. =( That's him in this top picture with his head peeking up over the coffee table. We will miss you Andrew!

So we've watched a couple Star Wars and The Labyrinth so far. Last Tuesday was Lost In Translation in honor of Andrew. Hopefully there will be a series of The Godfather if we have anything to do with it.

Andy insists on being silly in every picture no matter what and I insist on not being silly on film, even when instructed.
